Start Using a Second Phone

You’re intrigued by the idea of a dumb phone, but you can’t imagine life without your smartphone. I get it. If your work depends on your phone, completely ditching it might not be realistic. That’s why using two phones can be a game-changer—it helps you find the right balance between staying connected and setting boundaries.

Think of it this way: everyone deserves a break from “the office.” Having a separate phone for personal life lets you disconnect from work while staying available to the people who matter most.

How to Incorporate a Dumb Phone:

✅ Get a Light Phone. We recommend the Light Phone 2—it’s talk-and-text only, but links and photos go straight to email. Pick a level of simplicity that works for you.

✅ Give your personal number to your inner circle. Call them to let them know this number is just for them. It’s a simple way to strengthen your closest connections.

✅ Block your time. Start with one hour a day on your dumb phone, gradually increasing it until you have around 8 hours of work time on your smartphone and 16 hours free (including sleep, uninterrupted by notifications). The goal? Clear boundaries between work and personal life.

✅ Consider deleting social media. Most people’s lives improve drastically without it. In fact, I won’t work with clients who keep active social accounts—it’s nearly impossible to see real improvement in anxiety and depression while still engaging in them.

✅ If social media is your job, create a plan. We offer strategy sessions to help you use social media efficiently—without it taking over your life.

Experience the freedom of not being tied to your smartphone while staying truly connected to the people who matter.
